Cabo Adventures Sunset Cruise in Cabo San Lucas Baja Mexico
Experience the Magic of Cabo San Lucas Sunset with Cabo Adventures
When visiting Cabo San Lucas, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to fun activities to engage in. From hiking, snorkeling, and zip-lining, to exploring the city's rich cultural heritage, the options are endless. However, one activity that stands out from the rest is the Cabo Adventures Sunset Cruise. This experience is a perfect way to end your day, with breathtaking views of the sunset and the opportunity to see Cabo's famous rock formations and diverse marine life.
Booking your Cabo Adventures Sunset Cruise is simple. You can either book directly through Cabo Adventures at the marina or through your hotel's concierge. Once you arrive at the marina, you'll be quickly escorted to your boat, where you'll receive a quick safety tour before boarding. The crew will show you how to board properly and ensure you know how to stay safe while on the boat.
As soon as the boat sets off, the crew will offer you refreshments. You'll gently glide away from the marina and get to wave at people passing by. The atmosphere is lively, with everyone smiling and having a great time. It's cool to see a different perspective of the marina as you drift away, and you'll be amazed at the number of “wows” that will escape your lips as you take in the stunning surroundings.
As the sailing music plays, you'll get to see the beach and all the beautiful rocks and other boats that are out there. Just before sunset is one of the best times of the evening – the golden hour. This is when the sun goes sideways, and the shadows and crevices of the rocks come alive with the sun's rays. The weather is perfect for T-shirt travel, with an extra sweater available in case it gets breezy. Blankets are also available onboard if needed. We were so appreciative for the blankets.
The crew will entertain you, telling you all about the gorgeous rocks and the stories behind their names. It's a delightful experience, and as you sail out further, you'll get to see the rock formations change, and the light changes, creating a lover's beach.
The lover's beach is on the inside of the Sea of Cortez, where the waves are very gentle and calm. Lovers Beach was named for the peaceful, tranquil nature of the beach. As you get towards the end of the rock formations, you'll get to see the arches. The crew will maneuver the boat in and out so that you can get a better, closer look at these beautiful rock formations. It's an experience you don't want to miss, and the crew will graciously offer to take your picture whenever you want to capture the moment.
After viewing the beautiful views of the beaches, you'll get some more drinks, and then it's off to explore the deeper waters along the shorelines of Cabo San Lucas. As you head out to look at the shoreline for the deeper water, you'll see the cruise ships, and the sailboat will turn around a few times, so you can see different angles and all sides.
One of the amazing things about this experience is that the boats communicate with each other and let you know if they see a whale or any other cool wildlife while you're out there. On our trip, we were able to see an elephant seal, a whale, and manta rays. We saw so much wildlife – it was incredible.
When cruising off the shores of Cabo San Lucas, you can expect to see a wide range of marine wildlife. In addition to the elephant seals, whales, and manta rays, which we mentioned earlier, there are many other creatures that call the waters off the coast of Cabo home.
One of the most popular animals to see on a Cabo San Lucas sunset cruise is dolphins. The waters around Cabo are home to several species of dolphins, including bottlenose, common, and Pacific white-sided dolphins. These playful creatures often swim alongside the boats, jumping and flipping out of the water, and putting on a show for passengers.
Another marine mammal that can be spotted on a Cabo sunset cruise is the sea lion. These animals are common around the rocky outcroppings and islands near the coast of Cabo. They are often seen basking in the sun on the rocks, or swimming and playing in the water.
If you're lucky, you may even spot a sea turtle during your sunset cruise. Several species of sea turtles can be found in the waters around Cabo San Lucas, including green sea turtles, olive ridley sea turtles, and hawksbill sea turtles. These graceful creatures are a treat to see in their natural habitat.
In addition to these larger animals, there is also a diverse array of smaller marine life that can be spotted on a sunset cruise in Cabo. This includes a variety of fish, such as triggerfish, parrotfish, and angelfish, as well as crustaceans like crabs and lobsters.
The Cabo San Lucas region is home to a diverse array of bird species, including both migratory birds and resident birds. The area's location at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez, makes it an ideal habitat for many different types of birds.
One bird that is commonly seen in the Cabo region is the brown pelican. These large birds are easy to spot with their distinctive long bills and large, stocky bodies. They can often be seen diving into the water to catch fish, or flying low over the surface of the water.
Another bird that is frequently seen in Cabo is the magnificent frigatebird. These large seabirds have a wingspan of up to 7.5 feet and are known for their distinctive red throat pouches. They can often be seen soaring high above the ocean, using their long, pointed wings to catch thermals and stay aloft for long periods of time.
Other bird species that can be spotted in the Cabo region include blue-footed and brown boobies, cormorants, gulls, and terns. Many of these birds are attracted to the area's abundant fish populations and can often be seen diving into the water to catch their prey.
In addition to the birds that live in the Cabo region year-round, the area is also an important stopover point for migratory birds. During the winter months, a variety of bird species make their way south from North America to spend the season in the warmer climate of Mexico. These birds can include warblers, finches, and flycatchers, among others.
Overall, the Cabo San Lucas region offers an excellent opportunity for birdwatching enthusiasts to see a wide variety of bird species in their natural habitat. Whether you're exploring the coastline by boat or hiking in the nearby hills and mountains, keep your eyes peeled for the many different types of birds that call this beautiful region home.
